Welcome to Harnz
Started back in July of 2016 in a garage in West Auckland, New Zealand, Harnz has since grown into a full time business designing and creating wonderful Mud Kitchens for schools, daycare centres and for many children at home throughout New Zealand.
Over the years our range of Mud Kitchens has grown as has our business and now we have over 30 different design options available & there is one for every age group. All our products are made from quality treated pine timber to last you for a very long time.
We have sold over 500 mud kitchens to our happy customers over the years and are now adding new product range every week to our collection which is made right here in our workshop (see our product range).
We also make custom design mud kitchens to help you bring your ideas from paper to your playground.
Our Mud Kitchens are a contained, beautifully crafted and practical area for children to get back to nature. Built from outdoor treated timber our kitchens are made to order and can be designed bespoke for your child.
Messy play is key to a child’s development, our kitchens let children get back to basics providing a place where they can have fun, use their imagination and get their hands dirty in a safe environment.
Harnz is based on traditional play when an old pot and a stick were used by children to create their muddy concoctions. Our kitchens are all individually hand crafted using responsibly sourced timber.
Our ambition is simple – we want to inspire children and give them the opportunity to have fun with nature; every child should at some point make a mud pie. We want Harnz to provide that space in every garden, alongside the swing and playhouse we want our mud kitchens to be a garden staple”.
Play is one of the main ways in which children learn. It helps to build self worth by giving a child a sense of his or her own abilities and to feel good about themselves.
We also have and will be adding more of these products to our existing range of wooden play furniture as we come up with new designs & exciting ideas to help children make sense of the world around them.
